No Specific Direction

So I realize this blog doesn't have much of a direction, but that is alright with me. I think I am still trying to find "my voice" and in the meantime I am enjoying getting on here once in a while to brain dump. Maybe one day there will be a more uniform subject matter on here but for now it is what it is.

My classes are starting out well enough. I did put off the first couple of homework assignments until last minute but I was able to complete them and get them turned in on time anyway. I need to get back in the swing of things. Probably the best thing so far is meeting this really cool girl in my psych class. It was kind of weird at first because, boy or girl, I don't usually connect with anyone right off the bat. I am a bit of an introvert, some people take that the wrong way, most just don't bother to really befriend me. From the little bit of talking we have done during and after class there seems to be some kind of connection there. We've made plans to get some coffee after class next week so I am looking forward to actually being able to sit down and have a good time with her.

I should also note that I have kind of been slacking off with the motor/car work. The motor is ready to go in the car but the transmission needs to be installed at the same time and I have yet to inspect the internals and replace the seals on that, I am kind of dreading it. Maybe this weekend I will get going on that again. When I can't ride my motorcycle I would love to be driving the Nova rather then one of my parent's vehicles. I will ramble some more later, right now it is bed time.

The Great Distraction

I have not had a cell phone for probably at least a month now and I love it! Honestly they are not necessary. Now I realize how distracting they are. There is a great wide wonderful world right in front of your face and your glued to your text message inbox. It is terrible when you have to put a conversation, with someone you are physically hanging out with, on hold every couple minutes because you are so wrapped up in your phone conversations. People go out into the wilderness and have to take their phones, then are devastated if they don't have any bars. Get off your phones America, and start living life again.

On a side note for those of you who followed the Casey saga... He is, in my opinion, doing a lot better. I think a lot of the hatters would even agree if they knew what was up, but Casey is staying offline and I am not going to put his name back out there beyond what I have just indulged.

School Has Begun

Well my psychology and philosophy class should be really fun, math and Spanish will not be so fun. I have all female professors which I am actually thinking will be cool, I think female professors are a little more forgiving when it comes to grading. We shall see. The philosophy class is philosophy of religion, so that will be an interesting experience. There has only been one meeting so far so I don't know what stance the students in the class will have but I am expecting some good debate. I just hope I am not the only one on the side of God.

Geocaching

So I got a GPS as a gift for Christmas and I decided to start this thing I had heard of called geocaching. All you need is a GPS and to register for free at geocaching.com. What you do then is get some coordinates from the website, plug them into your GPS, and go treasure hunting. It took me several hunts but I finally found my first cache yesterday. Me and my dad went out on the mountain bikes with four caches to look for and the last one was the winner. Usually there is a little log book for you to sign and then sometimes there is different little trinkets. From my understanding it is kind of an honor system that you should only take something if you have something to replace it with. It is really just about the hunt and getting outside though. There are also different tracking things and coins that I think are for collecting, not sure how all that works yet, need to do some more reading. Anyway it was a good time and I can't wait to find another one.

I'm A Bad Blogger

Haha, so it has been a while since I last posted and and one of my last posts I am pretty sure talked about how I wanted to keep this thing going and that I needed to be better about posting on a regular basis. Luckily I see from my sitemeter report that I still have some people checking in on a regular basis which is cool, thank you to those of you that do that.

So the Nova is going a lot slower then I was hoping it would. I kind of expected that would be the case but I wanted to think that it would be a walk in the park. I am pretty much ready to put the motor in the car, I just need to get the transmission torque converter and flywheel all set up and attached. I should also clean out the engine bay before sticking the motor in. All in all though it is going good, just slow.

School starts in a little over a week now. I am taking spanish over again since I basically dropped it last semester. I should have a good starting foundation now though. I am also taking a social psychology class, a philosophy of religion class, and the next level of math. Math and spanish will be boring but the psych and philosophy should keep me interested.

The road trip this summer is still something I am serious about. I really want to do that. I want to see the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, D.C., and other national monuments that I have never seen. Also I got a GPS for a Christmas gift and I think it would be fun to go geocaching all around the US. Geocaching is something new to me but it seems really fun. I am sure it will be a lot of fun once I actually find one. I have gone looking for a couple already and was unsuccessful. I don't know if they were old and had been removed or what but I know I will find one eventually.
