Casey Serin Offline Again

Well it appears that Casey has gone offline once again. I was even hanging out with him just the other day and did not see this coming, at least not so soon. He had mentioned moving the blog back to Wordpress but nothing about shutting it down all together. I haven't been able to get any kind of response as to why he shut it down or if he plans on being back anytime soon so we will just have to wait and see. I wonder if this on and off again pattern he has developed is hurting or helping his following in the long run? Who knows maybe it is drawing more people in each time he comes back online. I am trying to get in contact with him to see what his next move is and I will share it (with his permission) as soon as I find out. Whether he stays offline or comes back on I think he needs to stick with it. This flip flopping is getting old.

Some possible scenarios:

1. Family or medical intervention
2. Alien abduction
3. Imminent arrest by LE or FBI
4. Looking to create more drama?

You saw him last - which would you pick?

1. His family is very supportive of him so no on this one

2. Aliens...? come on now

3. They don't really care, I believe it has all defaulted anyway

4. Possible, I guess I pick this one

Was talking with Steve about some issues and was also overwhelmed a little... so I felt like pulling the plug to see how I feel and do some thinking about my blogging strategy. Maybe I'll be back. In the meantime... here is the photoset of the University Falls trip:

That place is awesome. Got some good pics!

Casey, You are sick. Are you being treated for anxiety or mania? James, as a brother in christ, can't you help him?

Casey,

What "overwhelmed" you? Wakeboarding, hiking, eating out?

Or the regular stuff we ALL deal with, rent, food and gas for the car?

Please grow a pair.

Everyone has some kind of issues they are dealing with, we can provide support and advice but ultimately it is up to the individual to help themselves.

Casey, you do realize everytime you stop the blogs you lose more audience right? I support you and as part of your team I suggest you either get it together and stay up or go away for good.

Which is it? You are 27 and you say you want to be a professional blogger. Well, pro bloggers don't open and close blogs like you and I change underwear!

Casey should be imprisoned. In perpetuity.

Team Casey Serin... if you're really on my side, I would think you would be more understanding of my "two steps forward, one step back" type of progress. Sometimes that's how things work. I'm still recovering from all the crap in the past and people are simply expecting way to much. RELAX BUDDY! And enjoy the ride! My true supporterz audience would WANT me to take a blog down if I have a good reason to do so, or simply feel like it. The rest of the audience, the haterz and lurkers... I dont' care about them anymore and what they want out of me. No point in "giving perls to the swine" or something like that.

► Blogger Casey Serin said...

"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces." Matthew 7:6

That's what I was getting at. Sure the "pearls" in this context is the good news of forgiveness of sins and salvation, but I feel it also applies to sharing my life with those who really don't care... or they SAY they care but they don't act like it.

► Blogger Casey Serin said...

James as we talked about on the trip, I think I'm simply focusing WAY too much on these "haterz" and thus giving them power. I think I'm much closer to seeing it now.

James said...

Casey-
I agree, in fact you are somewhat doing it right now by responding to them on my blog

Yeah...

► Blogger Casey Serin said...

Sorry for bringing all these negative people into your life. You think I should just ignore them completely?

► Blogger Casey Serin said...

They're not ALL negative of course. That's why i'm torn. There are many supporters. Just not very vocal ones.

James said...

Don't worry about it man... they don't really bother me. I wouldn't ignore them completely but don't let them get to you. They can only really effect you as much as you allow them to.

Serin, your "supporters" are mostly figments of your deluded imagination. And you know it.

What was the comment ratio like on your recent blog posts? I know for a fact you were deleting comments left and right that didn't conform to your warped optimistic view of yourself. You are a fully grown adult man, well on the way to 30, who lives the life of a freeloader, and seems to be proud of it as well.

Start acting like an adult, for heaven's sake.

Are any of you able to tell me what your fascination with living out of the car is? Check your links!

Is it because you can see that based on your current trajectory, it represents a most probable outcome for both of you?

"Homeless guy with a laptop" -- Steve called it!

"two steps forward, one step back"

That would imply that overall, you are making progress. What progress do you think you've made -- spiritually, emotionally, financially, professionally -- since IAFF?

Because from here, your progress is more like "one step forwards, two steps back, fall off cliff."

We don't want to see you fail, Casey. But you don't seem wired for persistence at anything. Keeping a blog up for longer than a week at a time would be a good start for a Professional Blogger.

Since we’re in the mood for quoting the Bible, Deuteronomy 21:18-21
18 If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father and mother, who does not heed them when they discipline him,
19 then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his town at the gate of that place. 20They shall say to the elders of his town, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’
21 Then all the men of the town shall stone him to death. So you shall purge the evil from your midst; and all Israel will hear, and be afraid.

It’s a good job not everyone takes the Bible so literally.

Why does the so called professional blogger "Casey Serin" always take one step forward and two step backward?
It's like he's always setting himself up for failures

Anonymous said...

Hey, Casey doesn't take the Bible literally either... the 8th Commandment, "Thou Shalt Not Steal", is more of a friendly suggestion to him, rather than an order to obey. :-p

If I wasn't a supporter Casey, why would I post under this id?

My post went right over your head. You actually believe taking two steps back is smart? One step forward means you are negative steps.

Think about it before you say it and maybe those darn haters would shut up.

Hey James, apparently Casey got his parents to cosign for $50,000 of corporate credit. If Casey drops the ball, they are responsible for paying it back.

What do you think being on the hook for $50,000 will do to their retirement?

Although I have a job and attend school full time I do have a fascination with living not so much in a van but on the road, free, nothing holding me back. A van is just a good means of doing so. I may live in a van some time in the future but it will be after I have a degree and purely by choice.

I don't know and frankly I don't care. That is something between him and his parents.

This is something that goes to the heart of who Casey is and why you should care. When Casey was in the midst of losing his last homes to foreclosure he took on the idea to buy an existing corporate shell for the sole purpose of borrowing money and investing it. Because his credit was so bad, a personal guarantor was needed and both his parents signed on for $100k in debt. Fortunately, 50k was turned down after the lender found out he was going to use it for some sort of Ponzi scheme. The other 50k has been "invested" into a speculative penny stock that has lost at least 50% of its value from when Casey last bought into it.

When Casey was beginning to lose the homes, he solicited his friends with a too good to be true offer to help him out and didn't reveal the trouble he was really in. Then it was the corporate credit which he took out just as he conducted his first beg-a-thon on the Internet.

Six months later, he was pitching his ill-advised penny stock to his friends and family as the "Millionaire by Christmas."

And now, he's using you James, for free camping trips.

Casey needs some tough love and sometimes the best thing you can do is kick him to the curb when he screws up. I know it's hard, but it has to be done. Trust me, I've had to do it.

Casey Serin would make a great subject on A&E's Intervention show.

Frankly, he has one of the worst cases of debt addiction I've ever seen. And I don't think the show has ever covered that particular vice.

Anon. I remember this kid math genius on Intervention. He reminds me a lot of Casey.

That is all stuff he will have to deal with if it doesn't work out, but it is not up to me or anyone else to hold his hand while he does it. As far as the camping trip he did contribute a bit and really I only spent about 30 dollars over what he did so who cares. I don't keep running tabs for all the times I help out a friend here and there, comes around goes around.

Nigel said...

James,

You're in denial. That's ok. I once was too. Casey is an ubermooch. Sure it's $30 here, $3000 there. Countrywide is out 900k? Another lender is out 1.4 million. And then there's the credit card companies out over $100,000.

Casey means well and that's his schtick. He's a Christian, so he must be good. He must be forgiven. Just cause you haven't lost a lot yet, doesn't mean that's all you'll lose.

You're on the Internet, scrutinized by a bunch of hypercritical people. And then there's Casey looking for his next fix of adventure. I know. I put him up for nearly two weeks. I'm not anonymous. I know who he is. He's deranged, but he's your friend...until he isn't. Just wait til you have to say "no" to him. Then the true colors will show.

Don't say you weren't warned. Casey is the worst type of person. He'll convince you he's your friend until he isn't. And then, he'll come back to you for more.

Nigel said...

"That is all stuff he will have to deal with if it doesn't work out..."

One more point. What has ever worked out for Casey, and why? Sure his foreclosure situation was tough, but he could have saved one of those houses, but he didn't.

He could have saved his marriage that he so whines about now, but he didn't. He never had any intention of saving it and regretted the marriage from the get go. You want proof? I'll send you the emails.

Casey can't commit to anything. Do you think you're special James? He couldn't commit to Galina. Do you think he can commit to you?

He abandons his own principles and then justifies it. Lying, stealing, adultery. He's done them all. Dishonoring of parents. Few commandments has Casey Serin kept...if that's important to you.

My warning to you is simple. The wheels on the Casey bus go round and round and they care little who they crush. Family, friends and business partners are equal opportunity fodder. The only way to avoid the bus is to yell out a hearty "NO DEAL," and then it will go away. Never approach the bus again, unless you've got a 10 foot pole in hand.

James said...

Nigel-
I really do understand where you are coming from but.... Casey can only "take" what I give (so it would be my fault if I were to end up under the bus). I don't think I will ever end up there to be honest but only time will tell.

BadjerJim said...

Nigel's right.
Like ingesting a fish taco that's not cooked all the way through... Do anything with Casey, and he'll leave you inexplicably spewing at one end or the other, while deeply regretting the experience.

Even trail mix can't overcome this. Trust me: those M&M suppositories won't count for much when squat comes before thrust. Nope. You don't wanna be there.
